Will write a post on these.Maria Nikolajevahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14554093780864419960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7363070543129427663.post-34606276880119342552011-10-04T23:25:24.765+01:002011-10-04T23:25:24.765+01:00"Actually, I am not sure I would take picture..."Actually, I am not sure I would take picturebooks to a desert island. They are too short. I'd take ten books of 800 pages each"

This is always my reaction to this question! Despite the fact that my primary loyalty is to children's lit, I'd bring Bleak House, David Copperfield, War and Peace, Middlemarch... I haven't even read the last two, but I would rather gamble on a book I haven't read (but have been meaning to) than risk not having enough to read on the desert island...

I always have to remind myself that that isn't really what the question is about!Ayellenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7363070543129427663.post-71984551659873033292011-10-04T23:24:56.681+01:002011-10-04T23:24:56.681+01:00Thanks for the list! If I were making a list of "best" picture books, I'd definitely include Where the Wild Things Are. Little Blue and Little Yellow and The Tunnel are an great choices, too! I thought about both Lionni & Browne, but couldn't decide which book from each. Confess I do not know the books by Nordqvist, Crowther, and Kitamura.

Such lists are inherently subjective, but I nonetheless enjoy learning about people's favorite books. So, thanks again for sharing.Philip Nelhttp://www.philnel.comnoreply@blogger.com
